I am so stoked! First ever video shot and edited by yours truly!!

This is the last draft which I am going to post on Dream Academy's FB page, but before I do that, i just wanted to post it on my blog first!! :D

I feel like I should say a humble Thank you speech to all my supporters out there. I feel like a famous film producer now.

You must now be dying to watch it. Introducing...

Mystery Event

Last Friday, my colleague told me to go to work in black formal work attire, as she is bringing me to an event.

Location: Fullerton hotel
Time: 6pm
Event: ALB Law Awards 2011

It was some super glam law awards ceremony! I felt really out of place because it was a Black Tie event. All the lawyers came in haughtily in their black suits and glam gowns..

Oops. Picture taken from net, this one is 2009, but the one i went to is SIMILAR
Many Many people

Performances
Award presentation
The ceremony turned out to be quite boring actually. Funny to watch the lawyers networking enthusiastically.

It was quite awkward for me until we found that they had a reserved table (just in case of insufficient tables). Due to awesome planning, there was nobody at this table, so we sat there and ate all the magnificent Fullerton ballroom food.

The delightful menu

Awesome.

Lion King @ Marina Bay Sands

THE LION KING

Woo my first ever musical!!!

Watched it on Thursday, on the day we broke camp! Despite being dead tired, I stumbled all the way to MBS. Was slouching in the chair and falling into slumber, but when the show came on - BAM!

I was wide awake!

Fabulous fabulous fabulous.

The animals.
The costumes.
The songs.
The voices.
The amazing sets.

Being the noob I am, I was enchanted.

MBS theatre is the epitome of class:
White

Polished

Beautiful

Inside the theatre:
We were so far back but IT WAS STILL AMAZING

Amanda and Yu Hui :D

After the show, MBS:

HELIX BRIDGE!

Lovely lovely musical. When I go to London, I'm going to watch one million musicals! Is Broadway in London too?

SECC 2011

Been so busy I haven't had time to update!

Sheares Exposure Camp ended last Thursday! Physically DRAINING...

Because I was too shagged to even take out my camera during the camp, the photos you see here are koped from Facebook...

The only people I knew before the camp
OG Identity: Super Cool Visors

MY OG: DARK PAPER!

Dark Paper stood for Darth Vader (wish I could find a photo of our mascot) and we won Best OG WHADDDUP!! At the expense of taking really few photos.. :(

FIRST DAY: Station Games at Sheares
First day was quite normal, had night games and ghosts and water tanks and hoses and stuff. AHH LACK OF PHOTOS the ghosts were good stuff

SECOND DAY: Sentosa
Second day was madness - station games at Sentosa.

I learnt a new word. Someone would scream 'POND ---!!!!!' and the whole world would suddenly rush forward and sweep the poor dude up and throw him into the ocean. Quite funny to watch!

THIRD DAY: War Games @ West Coast Park

Third day was war games at West Coast Park. Pretty fun and all but it ended with this-

All the freshies cowering in fear. OGLS armed with expired red bull, ketchup, milk, yoghurt, all kinds of disgusting shyte. OGLs gleefully pouring that shyte on us...

We stunk and looked gross but fine one for all and all for one! We rolled our ogl in mud puddles for revenge anyways. His iPhone died.

The weirdest thing about SECC was something called Secret Pal. Campers were randomly paired (mine was Jack and Rose -.-) and then for two nights we were blindfolded and had to go on blind dates. Then the ogls will make us do dumb stuff like dance/hold hands/feed eachother/lie down...

Last day: SP Revelation Dinner
The whole SP thing is weird.

Did you know NUS camps are sponsored by some government dating agency?? I didn't know Singapore was that desperate..

The SEC flyer!

I suppose this is how the entrance look like?

Where I will be staying for 3 nights

Woo hope it's fun and not gruelling -.-

Young PAP

What: Young PAP Introductory Session.
Where: NTUC Centre, 1 Marina Boulevard. (If I ever work in Singapore, it has to be Shenton Way. I love how the posh buildings tower over the stretching streets)
Who: Singaporeans, 18-40 yrs

I first signed up for Young PAP a few months back. I got interested in politics, especially with the impending elections, and thought: What better way to find out more about politics than through the rulers of Singapore?

It is so true that more youngsters are getting interested in politics! The room was pretty filled up, more than 50 people definitely. It was more of an informative/briefing session, didn't discuss many issues..

The highlight was really guest speaker, Irene Ng, Member of Parliament from Tampines GRC.

I find her personality refreshing. She was from Penang, came to Singapore all on her own, studied Sociology in NUS and then became a journalist.

Perhaps because of her background, she was rather candid and forthcoming with her opinions. She proved open to our views, and is not afraid to voice her disagreements with the PAP policies. It was heartening to hear her. She demonstrated that PAP was not that boring or 'politically correct' and aloof after all.

And there was one thing she said that stood out to me. We cannot control many things in life, where and when we're born, the family we're born into and so on. But we can choose certain things. We choose the life we lead. We choose the principles we live life by. We choose who we become.

Despite my exhilaration at my recent decision, I still feel bouts of doubt sometimes. I fear the future, the instant where I might look back and regret my decision. Sometimes. Such doubts do not cloud the pride and happiness I feel at making my choice though. We cannot be afraid to give up what we have, in order to achieve what we want. I know what I want. I am okay with uncertainty. And I am going to make the most of it!!

It seems I can never put my sentiments properly into words. In any case, a cute song!
